Morocco is never travelled in a straight line. You build it from the places that call to you: Fez's medieval medinas, Essaouira's Atlantic beaches, the orange dunes of Erg Chebbi, the earthen kasbahs of the Drâa valley. We gather them all here so you can pick your next stop — and from there, we show you the journeys that pass through it.
Marrakech, Fez, Meknès and Rabat each served as Morocco's capital at different points in history. Today they are the country's great cultural centres: UNESCO medinas, riads hidden behind studded doors, mosques and palaces in rose stone.
